Taya is constantly dancing. As a principal with Arizona Youth Ballet, she has received the roles of Marie, Marzipan, and Lead Spanish in the Nutcracker, as well as and Evil Stepsister in Cinderella and the Evil Queen in Snow White. Other than dancing Taya loves to swim, laugh, and hangout with friends. Taya is also part of two dance companies other than AZYB. She is part of Basha High School’s Kismet Dance Company and is a senior company member with NuEvolution Dance Company. Taya desires to pursue her dancing in college and would like to thank her family and her amazing dance teachers for getting her this far.
Michelle has been dancing for 14 years and has been on pointe for 6 years. She dances at her home studio, On Stage Dance Academy, and has danced competitively for 9 years. This is her second year with AZYB. For Nutcracker 2018, she was very excited to have the opportunity to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy. This Spring, she is cast as the role of Evil Stepsister in Cinderella. Even though ballet is Michelle’s true calling, she also loves to do other styles of dance (tap, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics).
April is 16 years old and has been dancing for 14 years. This is her fourth year dancing with Arizona Youth Ballet. In the Nutcracker, she has performed in the roles of Snow Queen, Snow Soloist, Flowers, Spanish, Marzipan, and Grandma. She is excited for this year’s role as Cinderella. April also performs at her home studio, NuEvolution, in Senior Company, Senior Hip Hop Company and Contemporary Ballet Company. In her free time, April enjoys traveling to various amusement parks and competitive dance. April hopes to pursue a career in dance or graphic design.
Rhiannon has been dancing for 15 years and has been a member of Arizona Youth Ballet since its beginning. She has had numerous roles in Nutcracker, including Sugar Plum, jSnow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy, Marzipan, Chinese, Lead Spanish, Grandma, and Flowers. Rhiannon was thrilled to dance the role of Cinderella in AZYB’s first production of Cinderella and is excited to be the Fairy Godmother in the 2019 production of Cinderella. In her spare time loves to spend time with her friends and family, read and cook.
